- full-stops( . ) is used at the end of a sentence.
e.g. He dismissed suggestions they would be lenient on clubs that flout the rule.
- commas ( , )it is used to separate sections of a long sentence to make it clear as well as avoiding any confusion with meaning. Commas are the same as the pauses and intonation we use in the speaking.
e.g. Moreover, the aim of the coalition was not only to …
- colon( : ) it is generally used to precede a list of items, a quotation, or an expansion or explanation.
